Philosophy

To her, counseling is a process of personal support provided in a safe place without constraints of time, space and confidentialities. Counseling sessions are the only time people speak freely about what is troubling them. Most importantly, counseling process makes them realize that there is someone in their life who thinks about them as an individual and is prepared to listen to them non judgementally.

Her counseling rationale, thus, is person centered, solution focused and follows an integrated approach. She believes that each individual is unique and is capable of achieving success and fulfillment. Her counseling emphasizes on trust and confidentiality. She maintains that positive changes can happen when an individual is given direction, respect and acceptance. She not only works towards helping her clients understand why they are in their present (problem) situation, but also works with them to evolve positive attitudes, actions and strategies to overcome their problems. Dr Yamuna firmly believes that anyone can achieve success in an area of their choice. She aims to help clients realise how to counsel themselves for the rest of their life.
